Hexon 1.0, 1.6, And 2.4 Review - Hammock Forums

I made a hammock out of each of the different weights of Hexon and I love them all. The 2.4 is really tough stuff. I think you could make a backpack out of it and it feels the most sturdy. Your butt doesn't sink into it. For me the 1.6 is the perfect weight, seems to have a bit more give than the 2.4 but still feels really sturdy and appears to be really durable. It's the one I've used the most. I've put it to the test with two people (probably 375 lbs) multiple times. Never slept all night with two people but we were in it for a while. I've had two people in the 2.4 also and there was never any doubt in my mind that it could handle the weight. That thing is bomb proof. Finally, the 1.0 feels much sturdier than I would have expected considering how thin it is. I just finished making that one so haven't used it much but it's going to be my new go to hammock for a while to test it out. I'm confident it's going to hold up well.
The 1.0, with complete suspension weighs 9.0 oz. That's with dynaglide whoopies, Kevlar huggers, Dutch clips and whoopie hooks.
The 1.6 weighs 14.7 oz. With 7/64 amsteel whoopies, Kevlar huggers, Dutch clips and whoopie hooks.
The 2.4 weighs 22.4 oz. But it has 1/8 amsteel whoopies, polyester huggers, Dutch clips and whoopie hooks.
I also always whip the ends rather than threading a loop through a channel so that there is no stress on any seams, which I think makes it more durable. I'm also careful to get the ends perfectly straight so that the fabric in the whipping is as even as possible and won't put more stress on any part of it. Setting them all up side by side and getting in and out of each one a few times I did notice the 1.0 hugs you a little more but was surprised that the 1.6 felt nearly as solid as the 2.4. Went back and forth between them and for me the difference in feel was slight.
I have to go into tapatalk to post a couple pictures.
